SOHO is proud to announce our first annual 10K run.

WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING FOR?

In recognition of our landmark 10th year, Springfield SOHO proudly introduces the addition of our first annual 10K run, Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m.  Help support our mission in fundraising for our 10 worthy charities and get healthy at the same time.

Early bird tickets are just $40 through March 31, $45 through May 15 and $50 thereafter until online registration ends.

FAT ASS 5K PROMO - If you participated in the Fat Ass 5k, we have collaborated with our sister event and are offering the following special. $40 RUN/WALK THE 10K or just pick up your SOHO SWAG either day and enjoy the festival!

SOHO SWAG! Each participant will receive a commemorative engraved race medal/bottle opener and T-shirt. In addition, all participants will receive two admission tickets to the Springfield SOHO Music Festival in downtown Springfield, one meal ticket for use at the festival and five beverage tickets which are good for soft drinks and beer at the festival.Total value = $60.

Race description:  Point to point, commencing 10 a.m. June 7 at Stuart Park following the beautiful Sangamon Valley Trail and running to Centennial Park.  The course is mostly flat.  City of Springfield police officers, traffic wardens and course marshals will be on the course at all intersections.  Course will be closed at 12:30 p.m.

Parking:  Parking is available at and around Centennial Park. Additional parking will be available across the street at Hope Christian Church.

Bus transportation:  Bus transportation between Centennial Park and Stuart Park will be available from 8:30-9:30 a.m., at which time runners will be expected to transport themselves to the start line

Packet pick-up: Friday, June 6, 2014, 5-8 p.m., at the stage entrance tent of SOHO Music Fest located in downtown Springfield on the northwest the corner of 6th & Washington streets.

Awards:  Awards will be given to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as 1st and 2nd place awards for top male and female finishers within each age division and "Youngest" and "Most Matured" runners.  Race medals will be given to participants at the finish line. Awards will be distributed at the after-party (group on stage @ 1:30 p.m.) or can be picked up at Springfield Running Center the following week.

After-Party:  Come join the 10K After-Party, pick up your awards and try your luck at the Race Bib Raffle (including a new pair of Saucony Running Shoes from Springfield Running Center) at the 10th Annual Springfield SOHO Music Fest in downtown Springfield beginning at noon on Saturday, June 7, 2014.

We strongly encourage you to register no later than May 26, 2014 to ensure that you receive a race shirt.

Registration – There are three ways to register for the race: paper registration, online registration and race-day registration.

  • Paper form: By mailing the application to the Race Director at 950 South Lincoln Ave #10, Springfield, IL  62704
  • Day of race: Registration will be available at the Centennial Park Pavilion the day of the race from 8:00-9:30 a.m.

The Sangamon Valley Trail is a mostly shaded route that takes travelers from Stuart Park on the northwest side of town to Centennial Park on the southwest side. The trail includes scenic bridges over Highway 97, Washington Street and Old Jacksonville Road.  Additionally, there is a bridge over the valley between Highway 97 and Washington Street.  Future expansion includes extending the trail north to Athens and south to Girard.
